August 21: The Restoration of All Things

Opening Prayer

Lord, I focus on the Restoration of All Things, acknowledging that the work of redemption is even greater than the work of creation. I thank You for loving me into existence and for the even greater mercy of restoring my soul when I had lost myself through sin. Let Your creative grace continue to operate within me, rebuilding the road that was broken by my rebellion.

I petition for the grace to have my life hidden in the secret place of Your presence, where my restless heart can finally find its peace. Redeem my mistakes and my poverty, transforming them into opportunities for Your power to be revealed in my professional and personal life. May my restored life be a testament to Your immeasurable love, a love that could not live without its creature.

Amen.

Today's Gospel

 John 6:51-58

51I am the living bread which came down from heaven. 52If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world. 53The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 54Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. 55He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. 56For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. 57He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him. 58As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth me, the same also shall live by me.

Saint of the Day
St. Pius X

St. Pius X, the “Pope of the Eucharist,” evaluates the “True Body and Blood” as the clinical food for eternity. Pius X’s narrative was to Restore all things in Christ. The Gospel “Eat my flesh” was his Science of Salvation. He differentiates the cafeteria Catholic from the one who receives universally and completely. We are “miserable pilgrims“. The spiritual paper cuts of modern errors are healed by the Medicine of the Word and the Marvelous Banquet. Pius X reminds us that spiritual infants must mature through frequent participation in the Sacraments. We must fortify our belief with Scripture and Tradition.

Wisdom of the Saints

The Resurrection of Christ has “raised all things,” effectively reclaiming the world from the terror of death. This victory has “turned the tables” on the enemy and adopted us into the kingdom of light. Because Christ has risen, we no longer live under the dominion of darkness but as citizens of a new creation, empowered to live for God’s glory.

“The Church is one. We must keep peace within the Body of Christ and view our Christian brothers and sisters with mercy and grace.”

— St. Pius X

Mary and the Magisterium

The Magisterium teaches that Christ has raised all things through His death and resurrection. Mary’s intercession is the engine of this restoration, guiding the Church back to its primary mission.

Closing Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for the Bread of Life. Let it preserve me to life everlasting.

Amen.
