Book 4, the final section of The Imitation of Christ, focuses on the Blessed Sacrament. Appropriately, Fr. Robert Nixon begins with a prayer about the Holy Eucharist.

O Christ, in bread and wine disguised,

Hidden from our earthly eyes,

But present here in mystery,

From death and sin, please set us free.

Grant us pure and true devotion.

Rule our senses, thoughts, emotions.

Let Thy blood refresh our souls.

Let Thy body make us whole.

Amen.
